What we did in 2021, what we expect for 2022

 

Despite the numerous challenges faced in the last two years and contrary to more pessimistic expectations, for Sphere, 2021 was a year to be celebrated.

 

It is undeniable how much we were challenged, even operating for more than 20 years according to established and consolidated business models. It is indisputable how much we had to adapt and reorganize while learning to deal with the impositions of the pandemic. We strive day by day so that works started in 2020, in a very attentive and conscientious way, are translated into the right decisions that allowed us to go through 2021 reaping good results. We grew up in and during the pandemic, surprising as that might be.

It is also undeniable that we had to face and overcome losses and pain. The pandemic hit us closely, taking one of our collaborators and making us all feel its devastating effects. These effects brought us closer and made us see better who we are as professionals and as members of unique families who experienced the same insecurities. A whole unexpected context made us pay attention to aspects that go beyond the business world. A virtual world, much of the time, but none the less noticeable or important. The collective consciousness sustained us. How many victories were only possible because of the wisdom that, together, we had to acquire, molding ourselves to a context never seen before! Our dynamics and our routines have been transformed, but they have also brought us together, bringing performance and overcoming results. Contradictorily, the distancing caused by the pandemic created new bonds and demonstrated that interaction and acceptance are vital.

Overall, the use of technology resources has become essential to dealing with the pandemic and keeping businesses afloat. Many migrated processes to the virtual environment, increasing or accelerating the digital transformation. Internally, it was necessary to invest in equipment and technological resources to continue operating. The adoption of video calling tools became part of remote work, as well as file and data sharing, only possible thanks to cloud computing. Contingency plans were changed, vulnerabilities were highlighted. Human relations were affected and new skills and models of management and leadership were required.

All of this was inexorably experienced by everyone, but it was the human issue that spoke the loudest and made companies willing to a deeper transformation to be able, at the end of another year, to celebrate. The corporate world turned its gaze to collaborative work, to social responsibility, to less individualized values and actions. Adaptation was imperative and the best if those who understood and adapted to it came out better. Cause and effect, action and reaction, a lot of reflection and learning. And it is like this, following this positioning of those who always have a lot to learn, that we want to tread the year 2022. Facing new challenges, offering an excellent service and reaching important goals, such as getting ISO 27001 certification, a set of information security standards that will further raise our quality standards.
