Information Technology is one of the fastest growing areas today. Despite this, the job market does not find qualified labor. According to studies, the reason for the paradox lies in the fact that the digital environment is very quickly updated, demanding a constantly updated training from the professional, which is not always the case. The truth is that, as in all areas, only with specific training and training can one understand the possibilities of a market that, faced with new demands, creates functions that go far beyond programming and software development. Today, IT professionals also work in information security; in the organization and processing of strategic information; in the organization of work flow and software quality; technical support, network administration, among other services.

The gap between vacancies and professionals in the technology area is not a new fact. In 2020, a report by the Brazilian Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies (Brasscom) revealed that Brazil trained 46,000 people a year, when the market needed 70,000. The same report points out that, by 2024, the demand for these professionals will reach 421 thousand. For 2025, new studies estimate the generation of 797 thousand vacancies in Brazil, of which 530 thousand will not be filled due to lack of trained professionals. The business sector is already mobilizing to ensure the inclusion of technology in technical and regular courses and is seeking partnerships with universities to encourage the continued education of IT professionals. Another way that has been proposed by companies is the creation of internal training courses.

If the IT workforce landscape isn't new, it isn't transitory either. Hence the urgency to seek structural solutions that involve broad discussions, investments, inclusion of technology in curricula, awareness of young people about career opportunities.
