2020, a year to be forgotten? Not for us.
Much has been said about the covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and much has been learned about it while assimilating the impositions of a new routine. We heard several points of view and different approaches, all with real backgrounds and some misunderstandings. We live and learn together, while unprecedented situations have been and continue to be circumvented, individually and collectively, personally and professionally. Individually, the overcoming of great challenges was exalted, a perspective that generated reflections, the adoption of new attitudes and resources. Collectively, the solidarity that is present in crises was exalted for highlighting the vulnerabilities of human beings, motivating initiatives and mobilizing affections. In consensus, we admit that the human condition is not adept at detachment, lack of contact. And the effects of the new reality were felt by every citizen, worldwide.
The pandemic brought with it a stress experienced, personally, in different degrees: from the feeling of threat to that of opportunity. But it was in the professional field that adaptability, efficiency and innovation had to speak louder, since the economy does not allow prolonged pauses or successive trial and error experiments. It was necessary to act, immediately and correctly, for life to take its course in order to ensure the survival of people and businesses. Technology proved to be a great ally of integration, despite the necessary distance, and the adaptation of companies to efficient virtual communication was quick. The society continued to function digitally. Home office, video conference, distance learning, telemedicine, streaming platforms, deliveries, e-commerce were resources that broke paradigms, shaped behaviors and regulations. Some segments benefited from the new habits, while others reduced or even stopped their activities, but all had to adapt their business models.
It was no different with Sphere IT. Operating in the technology area and striving to serve our customers in a disruptive way, we seek innovative and essential digital solutions. We showed all our competence when migrating, in less than eight hours, to a home office model, without our clients feeling the impact of this change. In order to give consistency to innovations, we made the changes happen, before, internally, promoting continuous training and the certification of our employees. With remote happy hours and social events that gave support to families, we generated greater synergy and integration between the teams. In addition, we reinforce the care of our employees, leading them to comply with health protocols, in order to mitigate to the maximum possible risks of contagion. Structurally and technically, we have elevated our partnerships with Oracle, Microsoft, AWS and Fortinet. We also raised the level of our NOC and started to operate with a SNOC. We integrate our monitoring solution with a low cost SIEM solution. With a proactive and trustworthy positioning, we have overcome numerous challenges. Thus, we ended 2020 with specialists acting as generalists in various IT segments, acquiring more muscle to support our services. We kept our employees, our client portfolio and, still, we won new clients that will also be part of this moment of overcoming, reaping with us the fruits of many learnings. We did it differently, we created it, we innovated!
To all who accompany us, we look forward to this pandemic scenario ending, but whether it lasts or not, we will never lose our essence of innovating, doing differently, of being fully committed to our customers, employees and partners.
