Operational Efficiency, quality, governance and compliance
How and why keep these pillars – which interconnect and complement each other – in constant functionality and balance in companies?
Operational efficiency and quality maintenance
Operational efficiency is a set of practices aimed at providing services and products in an economical, optimized manner and without compromising quality. It requires integrated actions between different sectors to produce a significant impact, some of them focused on investments in process standardization, non-compliance management, quality controls and audits, always involving a lot of technology. Operational efficiency is directly linked to the promotion of continuous improvement verified from reports and systems analyses. To improve this key performance indicator, organizations must:
• Mapping and standardizing processes, identifying failures and promoting improvements.
• Define goals and action plans for each point of improvement.
• Dealing with non-conformities through systematic monitoring.
• Train teams, increasing their efficiency and engagement.
• Invest in technology throughout the production process.
Governance and compliance
Corporate governance is the system by which companies are directed, monitored and encouraged. Defines how decisions are made. It involves several stages of a process and is related to obtaining results and transparency. Already, compliance, means "to be in conformity with", to obey what has been determined. At the corporate level, an organization “in compliance” is one that complies with the legislation and applies ethical principles in decision-making, preserving its integrity. In Brazil, the term gained prominence with the creation of Law 12,846, known as the Anti-Corruption Law, in 2013, which imposes civil and administrative consequences on the practice of acts harmful to the public administration, national or foreign. It is a valuable strategy for competitiveness and business attractiveness, as the world, which is increasingly aware of sustainable and ethical consumption, demands behavior from companies that reflect these values. Thus, it can be said that being in compliance is part of governance and that the concepts, together:
• They improve the company's credibility in the market and the control of its activities.
• Increase transparency and ethics across sectors.
• Promote quality organizational management.
Data quality and integrity are also critical to ensuring that the information used in strategic and operational decisions is reliable. Companies must define processes that guarantee data security and block unauthorized access, guaranteeing the confidentiality of information and the protection of customers and partners. Expanding actions focused on ESG also involves impact and governance practices that have a positive impact on society.
Technological automation allows for better management and makes processes more efficient. Enables inspections on regulations and standardization of processes that reduce risks of violation and data leakage. To implement it, organizations must have clear internal policies, invest in security and state-of-the-art systems.
For Sphere, – currently in the process of obtaining ISO 20,000 and 9,001 certification -, keeping up to date with constant technological updates and the integration of concepts that guide good management, such as operational efficiency, quality, governance and compliance, it is fundamental to, in line with the demands of the current market, reinforce the focus on the excellence of the services delivered to its customers.
