Upon completing 23 years of activity and solidity in the market, Sphere IT celebrates its trajectory, aligning its constant improvement with the evolution of IT in the business world.
The evolution of IT is unquestionable. The result of what we see today is the result of a long period of time and was outlined by milestones, more or less relevant, however, all indispensable to the sum of advances in the sector. In summary, it can be said that, from the 1970s onwards, globalization transformed world relations, encouraging the modernization of computers and an increase in the speed in handling information, popularizing the internet. Thus, companies from all sectors now have powerful tools that allow data integration in an organized and fast way. Roughly speaking, it can also be said that, in the 1990s, great impacts were felt in the corporate world with the release of Windows 95 and its Microsoft Office. From the 2000s onwards, the use of IT was consolidated and began to highlight the user, deciphering what was value for him and, moreover, ensuring that the flow of this value was continuous. The world knew the information age, where knowledge management revealed the need to understand the business, listen to the customer and anticipate consumption trends. A new, more conscious and critical consumer emerges, comparing products, brands and observing the performance of companies in relation to social and environmental causes. Since then - more than 20 years -, several technologies have emerged, such as virtual reality, 3D printing, the internet of things, machine learning, artificial intelligence, drone technology, among others, including, in the last 10 years, cloud technology; cyber security; agile methodologies; IoT and AI technologies; task automation. Throughout the long journey, IT's constant goals were the search for cost reduction, security, sharing, agility and flexibility.
As if its rich and fast trajectory was not enough, IT faced, in 2020, with a health crisis that shook all sectors of the global economy and made new investments in technology unavoidable, generating an unprecedented digital transformation to cope with billions of remote users and changes in conduct and business models, caused by the distance imposed on social relationships, in a scenario that led IT to go beyond its role of supporting the business to become part of it. Yes, it was IT that mitigated and sustained many of the devastating effects of Covid-19.
What will the future bring? Certainly, more and more innovation. There are movements to increase infrastructures such as Data Centers, flexible working hours, adoption of hybrid work, omnicality in the customer experience, care with data security, all always in continuous adaptation. According to predictions from Gartner, the infrastructure 'just-in-time’, digital natives, convergence, data proliferation, business acumen, career ladders (or diversification) will be the technology trends that will guide global market operations in the near future. Technology evolves at such a rapid pace that, according to research, 65 to 85% of the jobs that will emerge by 2030 have not yet been invented, like those that will be created as a result of the metaverse. To support this dynamic and intense digital life, companies must rely on efficient and sustainable infrastructure.
